Paul began his career with the Inland Revenue over 30 years ago before crossing into the world of tax consultancy with a Big 5 firm. He spent over 15 years at Grant Thornton, eventually managing the Private Client Tax Department. Now a tax partner at SGD, Paul uses his extensive experience to support owner-managed businesses and advise on capital tax planning and strategic business growth.
Outside of work, Paul is an adrenaline enthusiast with a love for skiing, mountaineering, and kayaking. He’s also a keen DIYer, often found renovating homes or landscaping gardens – skills much appreciated by his adult daughters. Paul is passionate about giving back, having run the Ardent Adventure Trust (a major Duke of Edinburgh provider) and supporting the Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK), offering life-changing activity weekends for teenagers with life-threatening conditions. A qualified paddle sport instructor and corporate golfer, Paul brings energy, leadership, and compassion to everything he does.
